Children’s Japanese/English Summer School K-5
(Capacity 20 students)
This class will meet from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on weekdays between June 1, 2010 to June 30, 2010. Classes will be conducted in Japanese and English with an assistant to help those that need the extra help. Children will learn how to read and write hiragana and katakana, as well as learn to listen, and speak in Japanese. The class will progressively move from vocabulary to sentences. Children will create their own bilingual stories to make learning fun and relevant. They will also be learning about the culture and traditions of Japan. Mathematics and Arts will be incorporated into the lessons.
Parental support is highly recommended. Parents are asked to practice and reinforce what their child has learned in class to gain maximum potential of learning.

Children’s Japanese Saturday Summer 2010
(Capacity 8 students)
This class will meet from 8 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. on Saturdays between May 8, 2010 to July 31, 2010. Classes will be conducted in mostly Japanese with an assistant to help those that need the extra help. Children will learn how to read and write hiragana and katakana, as well as learn to listen, and speak in Japanese. The class will progressively move from vocabulary to sentences. Children will create their own bilingual stories to make learning fun and relevant. They will also be learning about the culture and traditions of Japan.
Parental support is highly recommended. Parents are asked to practice and reinforce what their child has learned in class to gain maximum potential of learning.
$25 per class/ $30 registration fee

Adult’s Japanese Saturday Summer 2010
(Capacity 10 students)
This class will meet from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturdays between May 8, 2010 to July 31, 2010. Classes will be conducted in mostly Japanese with an assistant to help those that need the extra help. Students will learn how to read and write hiragana and katakana, as well as beginning kanji. The class will progressively move from vocabulary to sentences. Students will create their own bilingual videos to make learning fun and relevant. They will also be learning about the culture and traditions of Japan.
$25 per class / $30 registration fee

Weekday Children’s Japanese Class (Capacity 20 students)
This class will meet for 45 minutes on weekdays for approximately 5 months. Classes will be conducted entirely in Japanese with an assistant to help those that need the extra help. Children will learn how to read, write hiragana and katakana, listen, and speak. The class will progressively move from vocabulary to sentences. Children will create their own story to make learning fun and relevant. They will also be learning about the culture and traditions of Japan.
Parental support is highly recommended. Parents are asked to practice and reinforce what their child has learned in class to gain maximum potential of learning during the five months.
Saturday Children’s Japanese Class (Capacity 8 students)
This class will meet for 45 minutes every Saturday for 4 months. Classes will be conducted entirely in Japanese with three other assistants to give individualized attention for a 2:1 ratio. Children will learn how to read, write hiragana and katakana, listen, and speak. The class will progressively move from vocabulary to sentences. Children will create their own story to make learning fun and relevant. The digital story will include pictures, artwork, and video created by the student, which they will take home at the end of the 4 months. They will also be learning about the culture and traditions of Japan.
Parental support is highly recommended. Parents are asked to practice and reinforce what the child has learned in class to gain maximum potential of learning during the four months, especially because the class only meets once a week.
Saturday Adult’s Japanese Class (Capacity 20 students)
The adult class will meet for 2 hours every Saturday for 4 months. Classes will be conducted entirely in Japanese with three other assistants to give individualized attention. Students will learn how to read, write hiragana and katakana, listen, and speak. The class will progressively move from vocabulary to sentences. Students will create their own story to make learning fun and relevant. The digital story will include pictures, artwork, and video created by the student, which they will take home at the end of the 4 months. They will also be learning about the culture and traditions of Japan.
It is highly recommended that the student reviews the class material throughout the week since the class only meet once a week.
